From the Orley Shabahang World Market Collection, this Persian Qashqai Lion carpet measures 3’3″ x 4’9″ and features a traditional Persian style weave. Highlighting the powerful imagery of a prowling Lion, the carpet’s central motif features a cream lion atop a rich red background. Utilizing the contrasting hues between the light cream and the red background, weavers designated the alternating tones to depict depth and detailing for the lion’s mane, paws, ears, and tail.
