Measuring 2’10” x 4’6”, this Persian Kashkouli carpet using neutral tones in a natural colorway is hand-knotted and belongs to Orley Shabahang’s World Market Collection. The classic and tribal Gabbeh design depicts the weaver’s surroundings from an overhead view. The rectangular patterns resemble individual plots of land with tree, plant, animal, and human motifs encapsulated inside. Something to note about the design is the weaver’s attention to detail and the use of negative space.
