Woven in the Hamadan province of Iran, this traditional hand-knotted Persian carpet dates to the 1940s. Vivid tones of red, blue and cream star in this design, especially in its diamond-shaped central medallion. The colors all have been produced using only organic vegetable dyes. Utilizing a design simultaneously floral and geometric in its style, the carpet demonstrates a heritage simultaneously tribal and traditional in its feel. The carpet remains in good condition consistent with its age.
