With large lozenged floral-filled motifs latticed in an upward ascending design, this wool and silk carpet, titled Vesuvius, measures 4’x6’ and belongs to the Orley Shabahang Art Deco collection. Depicting Mount Vesuvius and the rolling mountains surrounding the dormant volcano, the intricate details are Persian-inspired, including the tree of life motif and the boteh. Hand-knotted in Orley Shabahang’s exclusive Shekarloo weave.
