Inspired by the aesthetic beauty of antique maps, the Orley Shabahang Map Collection transcends mediums. When reimagining this map, our artisan weavers utilized traditional Persian handknotting to mimic every line, word, and image. Though the map depicts South America as known at the time, the similarities and differences between its record and our current understanding make the imagery all the more compelling. Handknotted in pure wool.
