Handknotted in pure wool, this modern Malayer carpet measures 10’2” x 14’1” and utilizes the Orley Shabahang exclusive Cheshmeh weave. The design features a garden theme consisting of an indigo background, caterpillar, flower, and butterfly motifs, detailed in red, beige, brown, and gold wool. The repetitive small-scale medallion motif called the Herati symbolizes unity, in which each element relies on one another to survive. This Malayer design pulls additional inspiration from Persian Varamin carpets.
