Beige Salt Pans

From our Flatweave Series, Salt Pans employ Orley Shabahang’s exclusive Interweave to compose this durable and understated carpet. This flatweave can be an easy addition to any space, thanks to its neutral colorway. Like all Orley Shabahang carpets, each version of this piece is a one-of-a-kind creation made entirely by hand using only natural and organic raw materials. That wool is then hand-spun using traditional hand-spinning techniques to create a yarn that possesses extraordinary strength and takes dyes in interesting, asymmetric ways. The dyes used to color the wool are created from ancient recipes using only organic vegetal materials such as indigo, pomegranate rinds, and walnut shells. Though we may develop our designs, they are the ones that truly bring our artwork to life and help us create the antiques of the future.
