This antique Saveh Persian carpet, circa 1910, handknotted in pure handspun wool features a unique tree of life design. Composed of an overall field and multi-layered border, organic vegetable dyes produced the rich colors found within its design. Intricate motifs, including morning doves, botehs, and cypress trees, connect through an outgrowth of branches. Grounded in the natural and undyed salt-and-pepper color of the carpet’s main field, a combination of bright and soft hues of blue, green, red and pink add splashes of color. In good antique condition.
