This antique Persian Farahan Sarasar carpet circa 1880 in pure handspun wool and organic vegetable dyes is hand-knotted in a Persian Farahan weave, and the overall or “Sarasar” design is characterized by geometric flowers in red and blue tones. Cream, gold, and green leaves visually balance the field, with classic Farahan motifs such as birds and village figures showcased throughout the design. This carpet measures 4’10” x 6’1” and is in good antique condition.
