This antique Caucasian carpet in pure handspun wool and vegetable dyes circa 1880 features a multi-layered central medallion with multiple borders and an overall geometric design and field. Its striking composition is well proportioned and further balanced by the carpet’s organic coloration. The vegetal dyed blue, green, and red tones are soft and naturally striated, grounded in natural cream, beige, and camel tones throughout the medallion, field, and border. This carpet measures 4’3″ x 7’7″ and is in great antique condition.
