Persian Sarouk, circa 1910
This antique Persian Sarouk carpet created, circa 1910, consists of a pure wool hand-knotted pile, cotton warp and thread and natural vegetable dyes.
Unlike many other existing Sarouks from this time period, the deep reds, golds, blues and blacks of this carpet are all original colors and have not been painted.
It exhibits a Lilihan design, and also notable is that it is a Sarouk from the village of Mohajeran, as demonstrated by its exceptionally Fine quality and weave. The size is 8’9″ x 11’4″ and it is in excellent antique condition.
